So, I went drifting last night. Anyway on this one part of the track there was a pretty hard 2-3 upshift. Last run of the night Went to grab 3rd and it didn't engage. Noticed after that that 4th was gone too. The shifter slides into 3/4 position super easily but does not engage a gear.
There was also no weird noise following that, and I was able to drive home with 1st,2nd and 5th gear.
I'm thinking its a shift rod/fork that broke but I won't be too sure until I take the tranny appart. I'd like to do that before I buy another one though because I suspect those might be easy to change.
Anyone have experience with rebuilding these things? Or does anyone know if the symptoms I described sound like the forks?
Any help appreciated.

oh nevermind, i read it as, the shifter can only move 3/4 (as in three quarters) of the way in, as in it won't stay in gear.
