Hey dude's,
Who here has 5 studed the rear end? I looked into redrilling the rear hub's, the shape of them is rather strange and 1 1/2 of the holes miss out,
So ive opted for a adapter spacer but it sort of limits my rim offset to around 9j +10, if i could get rid of spacer i could be well into negative offsets!
How have you guys re drilled the standard hubs? i spoke to a mate( machinist) he said it would be mad dodgy to weld on more material and machine it off.
Also i have modified the rear for adjustable camber by slotting the outside hole nd using a adjustable camber bolt, i still have 4 degrees tho! How have you guys done it? lift the inner mount upwards?
thanks anyway
Mike

yeah welded and re-drill, serialnine has an exchange service.
I don't think there's anything sketchy about them at all. I hit a light pole at 50 and a curb, bent the control arm under the car and demolished a wheel, hub was still usable-ish if I wasn't a wuss I'd rocked it with a sweet ass wobble

Providing you use the right filler material and do it properly there's nothing dodgy about welding and re-machining hubs. I'm also a machinist. I agree if you do it wrong it would be less than ideal, but you'd have to do a pretty shitty job for it to be really unsafe. Brand new billet hubs would be the best way to go but they would cost a lot to custom machine.
You can use MS123 crown rear hubs (and rear brakes AFAIK) but they're impossible to find in north america.

Try a welding forum. The info will be a lot easier to find there.
