Decided i'd start a build thread in the hope that it gets me motivated.

The poor drifted out cress to be replaced. It has had a pretty major hit in every corner including an R33 glancing the front left door and guard, an r33 properly hitting the rear right, my gf smacking the pit wall at calder park thunderdome whilst being 'taught' how to drift by an expert and then myself pretty convincingly smacking the front right (and then rear right in the same incident) years ago at winton whilst manjing the straight.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/9e3fc8c5.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

My current road car, previous road car (to become new drift car) and previous previous road car turned drift car.
The task begins, more on that when i can be fucked taking photos of stuff ive done to it.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/dd75947f.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Started collecting parts.

Have had this for years, cost me a fuckload to get from .jp <img src="http://jzxproject.com/bbs/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Will probably end up running S9 front and skirts though and a stock rear bar with a diffuser.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/21022008076.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

R154 rebuild and Marlin Crawler parts from DM.com...I was wondering why my box had trouble staying in first. Turns out there was about 100ml of oil in it. Need to machine up the other shift forks that MC don't make, mine are all fucked from no oil.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/c6c710c8.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

First summit order. Converting my entire brake system to AN fittings and my wastegate lines to PTFE braid. Plan to machine up an AP racing (copy) floor mount trunnion MC pedal box using the installation drawings from their site.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/ee3601a4.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

More $AUD being sent to the US <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> This one is most of my fuel system fittings. Just need to source some alloy hard line to run through the cabin.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/76a4d416.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

OMP HTE seat, bought it due to it having good vision compared to other seats with side bolster thingos

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/fa5fdd44.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Penny modelling the heavy as fuck mount that i got thrown in for free. Will probably find some right angle 6061 extrusion or something instead.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/fee459be.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Boot floor removed to get the cell where i want it. Probably seriously compromised the rear end stiffness to save 4kg!!

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/f26e03d1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Cheap polycarbonate i got through work...not the most fun to work with.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/4cd3d308.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Side mirror plug and mould i made whilst at motorsport school last year.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/8fb4733e.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Sexy twill weave carbon....

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/c699e36e.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

My first attempt with the nasty shit.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/ce44d2ce.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Worked out ok IMO.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/4e043468.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Probably very ambitious but i've always wanted carbon doors.
Prepping some to take a mould. Will buy vac bagging equipment for this, have mates in aerospace who are qualified in composites unlike myself.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/ed5c3284.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Have a cage builder lined up, have a shitload of parts to play with and some new ones to make, just wish the ass hadnt fallen out of the aussie dollar or i would probably have ordered the S9 catalogue by now...

Inventor is fun, new handbrake will be similar to this one i've designed using an alcon cylinder.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/handbrake.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Considered other engine conversions whilst at my last job...

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s198/bowlsclubboy/18012009328.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

That's it for now, have removed a whole shitload of weight from places most people don't bother with also. Will update with that next.

I'm pretty sure the dog is a Dingo. Aren't they all Dingos in Australia, like all bathroom tissue is Klenex and all inline skates are Rollerblades in the US.

How come your headlights are straightedge?

You're a pussy if you don't put in that Maserati straight 8 or Merlin or whatever the hell it is.

Your parts collection looks impressive, but it will all look awesome once they're installed wink.gif

1-What do you mean? They're mark 2 lights and ive never installed the garnish between the lights and the bar...i was too scared i would bend it so i'm gonna make a carbon one and keep the steel one as an original.

2-I'd prefer an allison V1710 from a lightening...28L/1710cu QOHC TurboSupercharged all alloy V12. 1600hp in a 1400lb package of detroit muscle haha.

3-I got a pretty good paying job after a year of study so of course i went crazy on my first few pays....Slowed it down a bit atm to keep the girl happy.

You too can have a flogged out one for about $30k...it will only cost you about $150,000AUD for an overhaul.

Yep, rear diffuser. Will have very curved strakes to hopefully still have some flow at big angles. Even considered trying to make the strakes and wing endplates active and move in relation to drift angle, again, very ambitious but would be pretty awesome. Drift is about the only category left where you can get away with some crazy ideas.
If i can work out what material to use (not a fan of any form of honeycomb on any type of under tray for a drift car) i'll be including a propper front splitter possibly with an upsweep. Did a fair bit of work on West Racecars last year so got some good ideas from their aero. Not that anything from a 375kg/280kmh racecar is even remotely similar to a fkn heavy cressida brick.

A guy i used to work with used to build racing boats and had 13 odd metres of it left over. 2 boxes of light beer and it was mine....haha. That was back when it was over $100/metre1

Added a few extra bits of kit to the rather large list....

This is some prac in the old car. Realised afterwards that most of the rear end bolts were loose, thus the reason for the lack of stability when accelerating. Dynoed the JICs not long after. 1 had degassed and another seemed to have a factory fault where something was loose internally.

I'm 100% certain that the new car will be a gazillion times better but may not sound quite as cool due to the fact that i will actually be running an exhaust unsure.gif

Finally cleaned enough blown up 7ms out of the garage to get the shell back in there and get to work....
Did a bit of work tonight. Would have better pics but our intarwebs contract ran out and we haven't renewed so iPhone it is.

Nah..those hubs are just something i had to turn the bores on at work, for a GT40 i believe.
I _could_ make all sorts of shit like that, but cbf and there is no point..

Cell almost mounted, its as low as it can go without hitting a diffuser.

You should market a REAL hydraulic handbrake setup after you get the bugs worked out. KSport price with aussie fab quality please.

This is awesome. Youre spending more in AN fittings and steel hoses than all of TC.net has spent on headgaskets.
