Are there any? Fabulous 4 Doors was awesome, and then it disappeared. Violent Running Tribe shut its doors and now all those kids think they're ZipTied II. My project kinda doesn't fit here and it would be nice to shoot shit with the BMW, Infiniti, GS, LS and IS guys.
Or... is JZXP ever going to expand beyond Cressidas?

VRT is just dead, they don't seem like they're ZTII, just they shut doors and banned lurkers which left a big group of friends in SoCal + a few others. The site is like 95% 240's, though. A few decent builds going on but nothing special.
Yeah, as far as I can tell, this is the only four door-specific forum that doesn't suck.

From what I remember VRT was a no-holds barred missile fest with projects that were pure function and fucking awesome because of it. Now I read applications and there's failing going on because cars don't have nice paint jobs. That's quite a reversal and makes the board just "meh" in my eyes. There are plenty of places to post if you want to talk about fitment and stance and how low you can turn down your coilovers for a car show and how much you can stretch a 195 tire, but few that you can talk about how to gain more steering angle or what brake balance you can run to get 4 wheel lockup and how to make the impossible happen.
Not to knock this board, but build threads follow this pattern:
-bought car
-blew head gasket
-pulled motor
-put in new motor but doesn't run
-cut springs
-6 months to a year elapses
-car runs again or is sold
-Serialnines go in
IDK, maybe I'm one of a dying breed of guys who want to push the envelope and make people shit themselves when they see what we did there.
...Or maybe my projects just suck and I'm a retard for thinking they're cool in some way.

it would be awesome to see jzxp expand to other platforms (it kind of has in a way but only within the toyota family)
...but then jzxp won't have a meaning anymore. it's like hopping on jzx100.com or whatever. yea there are x8 x9 and x100 sections, but the other sections are pretty much DEAD. and what do you associate with a name like jzx100.com. well jzx100 comes to mind...
i think it would have to be a whole new forum, catchy domain name that sticks, mods that don't suck. i think jzxp works because the ruling party is made up of people who think like other jzxp members as a whole (well most of us anyways).
forums that suck have mods/admin that only care to run things their way and have an endless supply of noobs to suck on their 12 foot e-shlong. or the forum plain sucks... lack of cool projects, lack of members, lack of direction, too much bs, etc. whatever.
i probably only frequent all of 2 or 3 forums in total, and lurk on the rest because of a lack of interest. often find myself typing stuff, and just deleting it before i post on other forums. it's like... uhhgh why bother, it's going to get buried under a bunch of useless banter and the same question is going to get asked again. feels like a waste of time to post even an opinion.

that's why i said it'd be better to have a new forum spawn than to wreck jzxp. don't need to fix what already works.
granted, we don't have a whole lot of tech articles or how to's and stuff, but i take as most of us here seem to know the basics already. i mean, you don't fucking jump into an intermediate course without taking prerequisites. you'll look like a fool unless you already know wtf you're doing. in most cases, much like it is here, you start mouthing off to a professor like some hotshot or don't have a fucking clue as to what the first test is about, they're gonna tell you plain and simple... GTFO.
