I think that a poll is totally unnecessary. Almost all the ls- swapped cars i have ever seen were done by people who don't really care what everyone else thinks.
its not a cheap or easy swap into any of the chassis ive seen it in. s-series, miatas, rx-7's, cressidas... it basically comes down to a very utilitarian need to put a great engine into a car that can perform its intended purpose well.
the only exception in my mind is the civic hatch with the rwd conversion, that was more of a "look at how batshit fucking crazy this idea is and hey i can make it run and drive too" category.

they are worth every penny, hour and frustration you will go through in the end
but, during the swap you will want to give up, shoot someone, burn your car down, sell everything, or reconsider. I have a ls1 in my s14 and its amazing. car has been running for nearly 3 years and the only part that failed was the alternator. car is a track only car so i am NOT nice to it. i start it in the morning, run it to redline for hours on end, then just park it. its been all over the west coast and never had an issue from up in the mountians in utah to sea level in long beach. every day i get in it, it starts and drives.
thats the end result. the process of the swap is the hard part. theres 10,000 things you dont realize you need until you have to do them. and every one of those things costs money. you WILL be nickeled and dimed to death doing a ls swap.
doing the swap in a chassis that doesnt have a guide, or a base of people whove done it will be especially difficult because if you arent familiar with how a cross platform (chevy engine to toyota car) swap will work youre going to have to learn all that stuff too.
it is not something you should dive into. you need to look at TONS of research done by people whove done similar swaps before and really decide. i did about a solid years worth of research before i plunged in and still ran into shit i had no idea what to do with. here was my build thread http://az240sx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=30965 let me know if you cant see it.
and dont listen to the purists and haters. doing a swap should be about making a better car. not keeping other people happy. you just have to weigh the pros and cons to see if its right for you.

yea but so has the ls1 240 and you were saying yours was hard to do. I'm just saying mine wasn't that bad. I wouldn't want to swap a ls1 into a cressida becasue i want a motor that sounds good in mine. The 1 thing i do like about the ls1 is that it is hard to break and gobs of aftermarket support

the 240 and FC are totally different. you can use off the shelf stuff for headers, driveshaft, etc. very little fabrication outside of the mounts is required. yes there is still fab involved but changing the flange on headers is completely different than purchasing new ones (at 600+) or making your own which is whats requires for the s chassis
