So I am really close to getting my cressida running, and I am very excited, I have went thru all the threads that are related to the wiring of the car and the majority of the guys running 1jz's are using a 5 speed while I want to stick with an auto at least til the beginning of the year. But now I would like some input from you guys about wiring my auto from the 1j to work with the car, I know it’s the same tranny just different wire harness, any pics that you guys have would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for your help ahead of time and here is a new pic of my ride.

wiring the auto is easy since it's a part of the main efi harness. you're not going to pin anything special for it.

thanx for the reply guys but i would like a little bit more info on the wiring aspect of this project in regards to using the new tranny wiring with the cressida setup, being that i do not have a tsrm that relates to the the cressida i was wondering if anyout out there has done this before and be able to point me in the right way. I have to say i really enjoy this site since its thought me so much on the aspects of upgrading this car and i think after i get the car running i will be installing z32 brakes on next

As long as you have all the wires/connectors on your ENGINE harness still, just plug the shit into the tranny and make sure to keep the other speed signals connected as stated in the wiring help.

It has nothing to do with the Chassis in terms of running the transmission. How about this; If you have an auto ECU and Auto Harness, just plug everything in and give it a try. Ok?

Thanks sweetie

yeah the best way to think of automotive wiring is: the car has NOTHING to do with the engine. You can put a 1JZ in a shopping cart if you want.

All you're doing when you wire a 1JZ into a Cressida or a 240 or Civic or your mom's Previa is simply supplying the required voltages and connecting your gauges (if you want them). The automatic/engine controls and all car body functions are completely self contained systems that you do not have to touch other than marrying them together as described above.

It's very simple once you understand that concept.

In short, if the wire harness and ecu are all for that setup and nothing was removed that has anything to do with the tranny, then don't worry about it.

As long as you have the auto tranny from the swap and the AT/ECU and you don't mess with the harness part of that ... it's pretty much plug it in and it just works! Only thing to pin in, is the gauge indicators as to WHAT gear the tranny is in ... if you want that ... it is really that simple!

You know its a slow process with this car cause i dont want to rush anything, i go over the wire diagrams over and over to make sure everything is right and i have 4 wires that i need to splice into before i am able to start the car, coil positive, injector positive, fuel pump and i forgot the last wire but all in all everything is comming together nicely and the car should be started by the end of the month, by the way what do you guys think of the emanage blue instead of the safc 2

Check your coil pack wires and maybe your fuses

thanx for the input guys, i have power to the coil and injectors when the ignition is on and when i try to start the car, by the way does anyone have a good tried and tested diagram of how the 22 pin connector is soppose to look once its been wired up cause i did my wiring identical to the one that is posted for the jzx83 and its not sending me any codes when i try to retieve them, the next thing i am going to check is the crank sencor. once i get off work i am going to look over my wiring again. and all the fuses are good

I'm confused. The last post you have ignition, the one previous to that you didn't? What did you change? Did you do this from start to finish or are you finishing someone elses mess? If it's th latter I'd consider starting from scratch to eliminate future headaches

there is power going to the coils and injectors and the fuel comes on but it will not start, i checked for voltage at all the coils and injectors and they had 12volts to them. when i try to start the car the engine just turns over no stumble hiccup nothing.
