New here and thought I'd post up what I'm doing with my new x7. I bought this today and plan to turn this into a 1J powered street-only machine. I already have a drift car in the works so I decided I needed something with a little more style.

Here are the pictures of what it looked like on the trailer getting picked up:

I will continue to keep posting with any updates.

Thanks,

looks like a nice clean canvas to work on. Not bad for a Canadian car.

Swaps are taking a bit longer than anticipated... Exhausts dont like unbolting after 24 years... and I have never seen so many spider nests... lol

Had to reset so I put in a new steering wheel smile.gif

Spent last night getting motor out of donor car and fitting it into the sedan.

Now just to tighten every thing up, put fluids back in and test fire.

Also ran into a slight problem on the harness... by the fuse pannel in the engine bay there is a circular yellow clip, on the sedan its bigger than it is on the wagon. I'm not sure if this is because of the sedan having the digital display....? If any one has run into this before please let me know.

Wagon was made in 84 and sedan was made in 86 so I would assume a few plugs are different... I'm just gonna stop btiching and swap the engine harness... Took a day off of it... Its time to get it running!

Any yeah, was just gonna part the wagon... want the roof rack taken off?

Hey Jay,

Wagon is in Edmonton, I'm working on it tonight, throw me a text if you need anything off it.

You also got that 5-speed setup for me? Bliss just bought my KA so I'll have money for you.

So car is running! Woot!... Couldn't figure out why the starter wasn't engaging so I took a wire and attached it directly to the solenoid and then to a switch with 12v... started up first try smile.gif

Drove it around a bit, wasn't running too strong but wanted to make it to the closest station to put some new gas in her. Tranny is shifting hard, thought the dipstick read that there was enough fluid. Back it up, its still running, put it in drive and were off. Car doesnt want to accelerate much but its slowly getting up there... get to the station and she starts billowing smoke from underneith... check it out and the cat is smoking like crazy, think nothing of it and throw some gas in it so it can start running a bit better... start driving around again and its slowly getting faster and faster, not smoking or making any funny noises.. but handles like a boat... head back to shop and its still running smooth... speedo stopped working halfway through the drive.. have to re hook that up later.. pull it in, park and turn it off... all seems good till i decide to look under the car...

Underneith is a pool (and growing) of atf that I just put in about 15 minutes before... rear main seal is blown and is leaking everything onto the ground... sad.gif

So now i guess ill just drive it around till the tranny goes.. maybe the 1J will have to happen a couple weeks early!

Lowering coming tomorrow...

Put new plugs in and fixed the speedo line... cars running pretty good... and that leak stopped somehow... I may have overfilled the tranny or something else obviously dumb... oh well, seems to work good now. has more power for sure.

I'm not too sure, but I am sure I could wrap it up and ship it in a pretty small package... and it can weigh that much...
