I've put together a crack team of specialists in my area to make rear overs for the x8 and x9. It will be a complete door cap and rear quarter. Now I just need input from you.

What kind of style are you looking for?

I was leaning to keeping it smooth and stock looking but 30-50mm wider. Which brings me to my second question how wide do you want them?

How many of you would be interested? price would be around 400-500 a set. Please keep in mind that this is over twice the material of your typical S chassis over fender.

No group buy here. I'm taking your input and fronting the cost. All units will be made to order after the molds and a couple prototypes are made. I'm also considering doing a koguchi/jgtc style set after if this works out well.

This will be very similar to what D-Max is doing on their x100 chassis:

I'm sure you all remember this car. I want to do this again with out the vent in the front and in the rear but including provisions for the moldings, door handle, fuel door, ect. And extend the seams all the way to the edges of the panel.

Here are pics to give you an idea how awesome a wide body x8 can look

If you want it for a x7 post up! I'm not adverse to doing it just afraid there is no market.

i'd be in for a set later on.
i like the way that d-max one is setup to look stock so that would be the way to go.

fenders too.

I would go for x8 overs on my next car.

Smooth stock looking type would be good in 30mm. 50 would probably be too bulky unless you did a 40 or 50 over out front as well.
Theres no point in having a plan
if you arent going to pretend to follow it.

both fronts and rears will be in the works. Rears are first on the agenda.

i say, if possible, do both 30 and 50's.
theres SOME people that are gonna want to be baller running wider gangster wheels.
but if anything, do the 30's.

I'm leaning towards a stock looking set in 30mm first then 50mm with koguchi styling.

The guy who's helping me do this has been doing custom glass work for 30+ years so you can expect a very nice product.

biggest problem is you can't even put a set of 9 +15's on a x chassis without major work.

www.big-win.com

they are already available for the jdm front.

Cressida front looks best imo. Maybe I will tackle jdm fronts later.

I'd be seriously interested...but not until early 2011. Lotta help, right? smile.gif After this season I'm sure I'll be wanting more tire out back.

My preference is as subtle as possible. OEM lines, minor flair, etc.

jdm front would be cool as well as frp hood. to add as kind of a front end conversion kit, headlights, cornerlights and grille seperately...

but then again. how big of a market is there for that? not much. would be cool tho.

yes those were s13 fenders in the picture. by far the worst way to do a wide body. But gives a general idea on how it might look kinda in a shitty way

I think I would be in. 500 for wider fenders is actually cheaper then what it would cost to fix my rear quarter panel. I think we would need to see it with a body kit maybe?
