How do you get rid of it? I want to run 18x9.5 +35 with a 225/40R18. I read G's post about angle and how you'll hit the unit if you have to big of wheels/tires.
Also, my steering rack is leaking out of the tie rod ends a lot. I don't want to drive the car right now because of it. Has anyone ever rebuilt their rack and how hard is it to do? Do you need specific tools to do this? Are kouki racks the same as zenki? I have another parts/shitty car that's a 91', but the car I'm driving right now is a 90' MX83.

I am having the same problem with my new jzx81. I am going to replace all the brake lines with brand new non abs lines. I have already priced them from toyota. It wont cost no more than $80 here in japan. Then i am going to pull all the crap out.
All I really wanted was the back visor

Thanks guys.
Every single x83 in the junkyards I find are ABS equipped. I think all the cressida's in Canada came like that. I have searched and I couldn't find shit all. Maybe I didn't search with the right words. EDIT.....FOUND IT.
Is the kouki rack the same as the zenki rack on these cars?

its really not hard, i think you need to get a non ABS master cylinder and basically just make new lines from that to your front brakes and the rear brake distributor thats bolted to the strut tower on the driver side. the rear lines shouldnt matter, just got back there and take off the ABS things attached to the hub.
or just go to the junk yard and get non ABS lines for the front, not a big deal.
but i do think you need a NON-ABS master iirc. which you can get from a local parts place.

easy if your engine is out, just remove all the hardlines, get a flaring tool and proper ends, some brake line, some t-fittings where needed, and an aftermarket proportion valve if you wanna get fancy. you can just redo all the lines, it's not as hard as you might think.
as for racks, i'm considering switching to an s13 rack since i have a spare even with a column if needed. but not everyone is so handy.

Problem spotted
Action taken
Problem solved
ABS modules have proportioning in them, so if you just get rid of them your bias will be all goofy.
For steering rack, let someone else rebuild it and just buy one of these:

that'll be cool if you can do like a write up or show pics when you do yours, since pretty much everyone with ABS wanna get rid of it including myself.
