Saw a how-to on this before, it was a Japanese site I believe but it didn't look too hard from the pics of the procedure. Has anyone tried this? Maybe saw the site it was on and has it bookmarked or something and can provide a link?

I'm in. Please let me know if you find this info.
I tune cars for a living. I am addicted to late 80's and early 90's cars. I need help.

According to my buddy Rob (robc) his JZX81 came stock with a backlit grill emblem so that might not be much of a DIY mod.

isn't the auto-down just on a timer of sorts or like an extra wire running it through the switch. Could'nt you just tap into that wire from each switch individually and have all windows be auto?
I dont think so . i think its just the switch . try taking a master switch (drivers) and wiring up to your other windows . i was thinking about that the other day when i was changing out my speakers and looked over the switch box. it seems each switch is seprate peice. so i think it should work. try let me know if it works out.

Okay so I was thinking about replacing all the switches in the driver panel with driver window switches but it doesn't seem that easy. I'll take a look when I get a chance.
As for the backlit emblem this was a writeup showing how this guy made his light up when it didn't before.

My MX83 has auto up/down on all windows from the driver's side only. The car has a Viper alarm on it that allows window roll down from the remote so it may be a module for the alarm that works when the alarm is armed or not.
I say to check that or see if AutoLoc has something for auto up/down windows.
Edit: AutoLoc's part number is WC-1000.

Basically, the auto down switch is a "resettable circuit breaker". Pushing auto down, window rolls all the way down, mechanical resistance in the motor increases because it cant move any more and drawing more current through the switch and......click, "circuit breaker" opens, until you press auto down again that is. So, maybe all you have to do IS replace the switch............
