Guy Nelson: "You must be at least THIS tall to jump on this bandwagon!"

I got sick of owning a 240SX. "omgzorz is that a 240 brah?!" "Yeah..." "You swapped?!" "No... Stock KA. Keep walking." [saying this as the FMIC is plainly visible]. I faced facts. I live too far away from a drift track and am too broke to do that shit regularly. Time for me to get going on a car that makes ME giggle every time I see it (I've had it for a couple months and still do) and has that JZ business. Mostly hard prAkin', but still go out and do events every now and then.

So I put my 240 up for sale or trade, and I was honestly looking for a JZS147 GS300. 1J swap. R154. All that business. Wieder ends up calling me while I'm at school, and all of two weeks later I've got this. Probably would have never attempted it if I wasn't drinkin' buddies with Mr. Mark Panic!. haha

So here's what it looked like when Wieder had it...

Yeah, so I'm all bought, not built. My response? Yeah, pretty much. Oh well. Still plenty of work to be done.

And it pretty much sits the same now, just minus a bunch of stickarz:

(this is more an exercise in jerkoff art photography than anything. mostly untouched pics)

Big plans for it, I guess. Slow in coming right now 'cause of my no-job-havin' ass, but I'm working on gaining employment. Obviously difficult in Oregon, where unemployment is still sky-fuckin-high. I've already earned an associate degree in auto tech from the local CC, and I can't even get so much as a call back from auto parts stores when I ask for part time jobs at minimum wage.

Dreamin'!
R154?
Cams
Big single?
TRD 2way?
Gettin' that suspension in order?

All good things to be done with an X8.

Updates can be few and far inbetween. I'm in school for mechanical engineering right now, which is always a super-whore and very involved. Also I don't have my own garage right now, so I have to rely on being able to bring my shit into Mark's shop on weekends when he's available, there's space, and it's okay for me to do so. Stay tuned.

Build thread start: fail. haha

It previewed fine, but now the pics are showing up as dead photobucket links for me... Can anybody else see them?

EDIT: Fixed!

Odd... I'm updating this thread on here and on VRT, where they showed up fine: http://violentrunning.squidd.org/phpbb/vie...f=29&t=1822 All I did was re-upload them into another album then they work here... Fucking strange.

First thing I did when I had it was checkin' that spark... Ignition miss was pretty bad. 2 and 4 had oil on them. Reset the gap and fixed the ignition miss it was having, for the most part. Oil in the plug well has me thinking valve cover gasket. Or at least hopefully that's the case.

Been touching up the wiring in bits since, but eventually I'll pick up a new Panic! harness. They're mega baller. For reference as to how mad clean they are, looky: Here's my old (now Wieder's) S13.

They're nice, shielded with triple redundancy, using Mark's ancient Chinese secretz. Level 20 invulnerability.

Here's a bunch of shit that will go in that I haven't paid for:

Not pictured but will have in a bit: subframe bushing set that Gerard from SerialNine needs to send me (sorry I didn't get it last time! I will pay for shipping this time around)
Suspension arms, pully kit (not gonna install all of it yet; can cause flung belts without another tensioner that will be on the way), LSD, water pump and that valve cover gasket set.

And a bottle of some baller-ass Glenlivet 18 year single malt scotch that I've been enjoying lately.

Goddamn I love scotch.

Small update before I go to PSI.

Was gonna go work on it early today, but I ended up having a late night... It started at home with this:

Then went to the bars. I don't remember getting home, and I was still 100% drunk when I woke up. I stopped being dizzy about an hour ago (it's almost 5pm)

So I finally drag my ass outside to finish doing the valve cover gasket, in an attempt to figure out where this oil leak is. First easy fix, and probably a good idea to do anyways. Shit was brittle as hell.

Also, what happens when you drive a lowered car around Portland long enough:

Shit fell off, so I pulled it off by hand last week in the streets. Happened when I was downtown.

Didn't take pics of the VCG job because... Well who fuckin' wants to see that? Whatever. I did notice something underneath my car when I was fishing out a bolt that I dropped:

Thanks, Ian. Or Wieder. Whichever of you left this.

Also, got an interview for a job on friday! It's basically a formality. Paychecks = parts

Fizzle got a job! Way to go, Fizzle!

Way to go, young blood! Gettin' paid, gettin' paid!

I heard Fizzle got a job! I'm so proud of him.

Let's rob that nigga.
