So far this is working well , I move shims from one side to the other to increase or decrease caster . Also I am working on a lower control arm using a 3/4" heim joint with a 3/4" to 1/2" misalignment bushings

Hummm. Nice way to get it solid there. Just needs an adjuster in the middle like the JIC ones but yours could easily work well.

I have over an inch of adjustment with the spacers I'm using now , so when I get the control arm built and installed I want to see how much more adjustment if any is needed before I add any more to it . Currently I'm running these about 1/4" shorter than stock and I feel a seat of the pants improvement in caster , the car goes straight down the road , the steering feels light and doesn't pull or wander .

Whoa. .
Good ideas. . interesting execution. . Is there a bearing in the original bushing location for the tension rod ?

Yes I'm using a 3/4" spherical bearing a uniball cup in place of the stock bushing with spacers to adjust caster . Also I figure you could add caster by moving the heim back , but I chose to leave it neutral and just set my toe so I could get home .

So what does your final version look like , this is my first version of this setup . I'm thinking of a completely fabricated LCA with a threaded bung adjuster , a mail heim or johnny joint on the inside and a high misalignment spherical bearing with an adjustable tie-rod adapter stud to heim from Speedwaymotors and spacers to adjust for role center like SPL uses on their s13 LCA's . This setup works good for now and one of my stock LCA's the ball joint was about to come apart !

Did an alignment today , 9 degree caster verses 4.883+/- .500 degree caster stock ! The best I could do was 7 degree with all the shims removed from the stock tension rods .
Front
1 degree camber
0 toe
9 degree caster
Rear
2 degree camber
0 toe

How much camber are you running front and back , also are you running any toe in the back ? This car is my daily but I hope to do a little drifting this year . The last time I slid this car I was running 3 degree front , 2 degree rear , 7 degree caster , 0 toe front and back . I was using 3 degree to accommodate a bigger wheel , so I guess I just lucked into this setup . How is tier wear when running a drift alignment on the street and if you feel it to be excessive is their a happy medium that works well ? Thanks for your input so far and any more would be appreciated !

Height has a lot to do with final caster settings..
Ameen has like 9 degrees on stock tension rods. . My car has 7.5ish. . Its almost automatic.. the lower the car , the more caster it will gain. . Cuz the distance between the two points is shortened. .
I run 3.5deg of front camber. .

I replaced the rubber bushings with urethane and called it a day. huge improvement. it does kinda look like a AE86 tension rod style may work
