This is all old and done but im bored at work so here ya go lol

This is what I started with... 2jzge from 93 gs300 $120 ebay = score

then i bought a 1jz with bad bearings from a friend $400 = score again
this is when it was in his cressida

decided to try the 1JZ pistons on the 2JZ rods....

some 440's

and apexi headgasket

mounting the intercooler

clutch pedal and master cylindre in

time for wiring... I got a jzx81 harness and just extended it a couple feet. it took forever but not too hard.

all done extending

now for the clutch and transmission

Finished and ready to swap!

^honestly idk lol... the 2jzge pistons would have probably been fine with a thicker headgasket, but the 1jz pistons are lighter, and at the time i thought they would handle boost better.

but really no good reason at all LOL

if they are lighter it seems worth it just with that. looks good though.

Thats cool you feel like you can make a 7m proper. Just do it somewhere else. Around here we call that shit gay.

on the whole 1J and 2JZGE piston thing, I read somewhere that 2JZGE's are interference and GTE's are non, and it was the pistons that made the difference.

So using 2JZGE pistons in a 1J would make it interference.

but I didn't look any further than that, amirite with this?

Sorry, I meant that if what I read is right, using GE pistons in a 1.5J setup would make the engine interference, and using 1J/2J GTE pistons in a 1.5J would make it non-interference.

if thats true then im glad i didnt use the GE pistons
my motor is definately non-interference, cuz i checked clearances with some Play-Dough with the pistons at TDC and valves at max lift, to see what size HG i would need.
