PREVIOUS AUTO EXPERIENCE:
I completed a 10 month auto technician program about 8 years ago before moving into mechanical engineering and design. I've worked on every car I've owned since although I've usually been broke so I can't say that I've done a whole lot of crazy stuff, but I very much like getting my hands dirty with maintenance and repairs.
Significant cars;
1985 Toyota MR2 (my second AW11)

Custom Low-rise headlights by me, and a complete suspension overhaul (springs, shocks, bushings, sway bars, etc.)

Second Place MR2 @ PSTOC.com annual All Toyota Show;

1993 Toyota Celica Alltrac Turbo
6000RPM AWD clutch dumps @ Mission Raceway Street Legals!

1990 Honda Civic DX - Sedan
Converted from a 1.5L Auto to a 1.8L 5spd, nothing crazy since it was a beater to start with, but it was fun for a while.

1992 Toyota Cressida

The Teal Alltrac is my girlfriends car, so is the '65 Mustang

I've also spent several years helping run the local BCMR2 Club & forum. We try to be a well organized club that hosts several meets throughout the year including a big weekend meet every August that has brought cars from as far away as California and Saskatchewan.

As mentioned money is the biggest reason that I haven't done a lot of crazy builds or engine swaps, but I do my best to contribute to the clubs that I'm a part of. Here's a quick example of a couple little things that I've contributed to the Cressida community;

I've also started a FG Sub box thread to show people on the BCMR2 forum the basics. I haven't posted it on the Cressida forums as I still haven't got everything wired in and completed yet.

WHY YOU WANT TO BE A MEMBER: I'd like to become a member mainly so that I can learn more about JZ swaps. I know my time with the 7M is limited, and I'm sure as hell not going to go through headgasket issues if there's something better out there. In addition my vision of my Cressida is more of a sports sedan than a drift machine. I've always like the early 2000's BMW 5-Series, but I'm a Toyota guy at heart. So in the end I'm going to need to dump the 7M and put in some bad ass suspension, and hopefully I can document some if it for other people to follow in the future.
