Ok so Ive never put together a build thread so bear withh me. Here is what I have done withh the cressida so far.

Picked this thing up for $1000 DD over a year ago withh 210k on the clock and SUPRISE the motor blew. Before it did I was able to have a bunch of fun in it during a snowstorm and was hooked withh the X-chassis.

After the HG went I had to get on the road quickly. My then-girlfriend / now-fiance dropped a check for a replacement motor when I didnt have the money so she wouldnt let me say no. Its still a 7MGE but also has a 3 year warranty less than 60K on it a year later.


For reference, here is the car, stock everything and dirty as shit after a drive through my old stomping grounds.

Didnt get progress pix, but have a shitty cell "after" picture of the Tein S-tech springs. Looks great withh the Myspace viewing angle... any lower though and there is still a big gap :?

Huge thanks Matt for the spare cressida diff/suspension and Mark for installing the Supra internals for me.

When he was finished Mark signed PM Spec! on the housing.
I got bored at work and decided to make it more obvious and blue

yeah I painted the ENTIRE diff blue... I was really bored.
The one I pulled out is gonna get welded as a spare when I need.. thinking yellow

Fast forward a little, I picked up some white Advan AVS
17x8 +32 all 4 corners

Got them withh messed up and curbed lips

stripped the bead lips and had them polished. Place was fucking awesome, even took out all the curb rash.

Big gap still, but looks, rides and feels a lot better than stock.

So far the car has:

earlier model X8 grill
Tein S-tech springs
PM-Spec Supra LSD: custom smurf blue withh "MS_CHILLER" font (aaw yeah)
Advan AVS: 17x8 +32

not much but its a start.

heading to a junkyard this weeked to pull suspension parts off a crashed X8. thinking i can fab some custom arms withh heims and swedge tubes. Looking for a MR2 swaybar as well.

5-speed and 1jz are next on the list as well as coilovers.

But I have to face reality. Im getting married soon and my cash flow isnt really "flowing" so this is gonna be a slow build.

nothing other than its open, Im just gonna have a guy I know weld the open one I pulled just in case.
I'm loving the supra LSD so far.

Im not sure why you would want an open diff, but I would reccomend hitting up a junkyard before trying to ship mine.


had some fun withh it this weekend. I have a new found hatred of the automatic. Hope to put in a 5-spd before too long so I can have fun in more than just wide open spaces.

ok, this is too funny because on my 240 last year I was running a big rainbow reflective metallic stucker that said "I need more cowbell."

Ran that until a friend ruined my moment by saying it looked like a gay nightrider when he followed me at night.
Looking back he was right but yeah, my shit needs more cowbell.

Here is the corner mitch was talking about. He took the picture from the inside of the corner and I came withhin like 3 feet of him. This isnt it... cant seem to find that one.

too lazy right now to find the larger pic but here it is. If you zoom in you can actually see him looking over his steering wheel to see if he's going to hit me.

So just because I said I would update..

The FUCK is because I sold my 240 and have the money in my pocket to get a 1z and maybe even enough to work out my suspension if I play it right. I was stoked about that... BUT I found last friday that my work has not recieved a needed round of funding (start up company) and Im not promised a paycheck this next time around.

So.... I might be unemployed I might not be unemployed. Dunno. But either way I am under the impression that Im volunteering right now so Im gonna have to play it safe and not order my motor until I know what going on.

So some shit has happened since my last update. Not all good, but now I have no excuses for not swapping my car.

havnt had a chance to get pix since the 1st day but here is where I am so far.



7m - out and going to be traded for cooler
clutch pedal - installed
non ABS - installed
firewall - clearanced
trans tunnel - pounded (but not enough, cant get everything in )
6-puc in the R154 - yes
shifter hole - started cutting for shifter (too far forward)

Im dropping the engine and trans in as one but hit a snag when I cant get both mounts and the trans mount to line up (2 out of 3 is still bad) so I have to pull and hammer again. Also the one of the engine mounts is torn. This car is being a little fucker but its gonna get done.


Huge thanks to Mitch for coming up to help out and drive my ass around as needed.
also thanks to Mark and everyone who has been answering my questions.

more pix will be on the way, and I hope soon a running car.

little update from yesterday. Sorry for the krappy cell pix

got my driftmotion PS line and clutch line hooked up, took the sledge to the tranny tunnel again, and test fitted a MK4 Supra fluidyne radiator I picked up for cheap.

Its too tall to fit without some modification to either the radiator, lower mount on the car, or both.







Lower mount points are different too,but thats an easy fix.
