push: believe me i'd like to keep it the stock green, but its hard to find a bodyshop that does spot on paint matches. i'd be better off finding the paint p/n from toyota and finding a can for myself.

mranlet: i worked the dent out a little TINY bit, but there was a difference. i got tired of leaning my body on it while it was on my porch hand rail and pushing the flange down, while trying to hammer at the same time. I did end up getting the two flanges to line up thought, withh a little persuasion from my foot and arms.

aphxero: i'm not using stock management because of the drive by wire, obd2 bullshit. that and so it'll be easier to wire it up to my car. i don't know what i'm going to be doing withh vvti anymore, before i found out its not like VVT i was going to use an msd activation swithch, but i dont know anymroe since vvti is constantly variable and i can't find IN DEPTH INFO on how it works.

use a JZX100 ECU. it doesn't use drive by wire, but still has VVTi and the correct waste spark ignition system that 2JZ needs.

you'll run a little rich for a while until you get that turbo on there through. laugh.gif

dope. thanks for the reply, will the jzx100 ecu plug into my harness? does it matter what year jzx100 the ecu is from? and finally, is it also obd2? thanks.

EDIT: forgot to ask, will it matter if the ecu is auto or manual?

nah, it's JDM so no OBD2 crap.

JZX100 1JZ-GTE ecu from any 96-99 chaser/mark II etc

i'll research the pins for you. i think when i was looking into doing this to remove my drive by wire in my IS i found a US ECU plug that will work withh the JZX100 ecu, then i'd just have to re-pin. wasn't too bad honestly.

wow thanks a lot bro, please lmk about it asap because i'm highly considering this option. even though i have the megasquirt, i'll save it for my 1J block. fuck trying to tune my car right now, i just want to drive it already. If you can find all that old info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again.

Is the wired throttle only ECU output, or there a redundancy TPS on it that sends signal back into the ECU? I'm sure there's an easy way to circumroute drive by wire...
