Just thought id post up some pics of the Track only X8 im building.
This is the test vehicle im building to protoype all the SERIALNINE parts. Basically all the parts i've done for my car, but now im doing X8 stuff. . The product line will consist of basically suspension shit that X8 owners need to be competitive in the track/drift, and stuff to make 1J's easier to swap. We'll be hitting all the local (inc. USA) events and car shows etc.

The concept for this car is basically my style of drift car. . More like the oldskool underground japanese street style rather than the D1 or pro style. . Big phat rims, super fuckin low, clean but withh lots of chrome vinyl . . Ghetto bling if you will. .

Car is from USA withh passive belts SOOOO GAY!!!
(they're long gone now), was purchased for $150 and will be BLACK.

Stockness

Checking the front clearance withh a 18x9+19 and 225/40 18. I wanted to clear it withh a bigger tire than what we are actually gonna run. . We will run 215/40 on the front.

What we do is take out the springs and lower the supension to full compression, then turn the wheel from lock to lock withh the proper wheel/tire on. then where it hits the fender, we utilize THOR.

Back of front fender clearance @ full lock. (you can see the prior damage from before we bought it.) Remember this is a 225/40 18 on a 9J+19

Front of the Front fender clearance. This is the killer one as you see all the poundage inside the engine bay.You gotta pay to play. . (That's what bondo is for biggrin.gif )

After that the Harnesses are disconnected and Re-routed to the Top of the inner fender and secured via zipties through drilled holes. This is a VERY important step unless you want your harness to look like this.

18x10+11 and 225/40 18 . .

Fender seam Cut, and Oh Shit. . Rust and Bondo. . Nothing nicer to find inside. .Fucking Rust. Fucking Bondo

Inner fender cut about 2 inches up. There is actually a third piece in between the inner and outer that supports the inner fender on the very top of the inner fender, THOR had to deal withh this. You can see the INSIDE of the outer fender now. . allowing you more freedon in forming the fenders since you have direct access to the backside of the outer fender.

The piece that got cut out.

Voila, Fenders are a little rough and the front fenders missing right now. . will be on and modded soon. But you get the picture. .It will only get better from here. .

i'm in for parts, and i'll run serialnine 2-tone/chrome vinyl off if you want some done or whatever. I wanna see rear arms with hardware to replace all the factory stuff like yesterday. rear camber is cool, but only if you can choose to have it.

that rear fender lip is starting to look familiar, inner fender bashing on the front too heh laugh.gif

Shit man. . I know hey ? . . First things first. . the prototypes will be done soon. . Arms and stuff will come later. . they are a little harder to get manufactured (expensive) . . . And will have to be later. . The same time as decently priced Adjustable Tension rods. .

Flip yours. Bend your triple seam down and out and hammer it round enough so that you can smooth the rest over withh bondo.

Believe me, for the amount of tire-on-fender action you'll be having you'd be glad you didn't cut the inner and middle fenders, as they'll slice through the tire.

But you do realize that still involes me doing some kind of work right?

Car is ****in running . . JZX90 wiring complete. . Sorry for the lack of updates. . Its just too much work trying to get the car done while taking pics ourselves. . Were gonna do videos and shit. . but time constraints axed those as well. . I have some tunnel bashing ones withh THOR. . should be fun to watch. . Exhaust is done. . 3.5 inch withh an old 90mm HKS muffler. . Its SICK LOW . . like 2 inches off the ground. . Pretty hard to fit 3.5 inch under a car that low, But we did it. . Its only low under the diff and at the muffler. . the whole front half is tucked. .(including the temporary cat. ) Used the X90 tranny, moved the shifter over like an inch towards me and solid mounted it as well. . Modded the tunnel to fit. . Custom E-brake handle. . Intercooler should be here tomm. . Used complete X90 rad and hydrofan for now. . That shit flows like 4000CFM or something. . Mounting the seat and finishing the fenders this weekend. . Coilovers should be done next week as well. . Have to pillage the RCA's and LCA's off my X7 temporary till my SERIALNINE ones are done. . Drawing for the solid diff mounts are done. . blah blah blah. . Pics soon. .

yeah, i tucked my 3" exhaust well at the front, but that diff route always bangs hard on the ground at full low with the teins, hope you have better roads than i do, i hate hitting on every damn road i drive even at half hardness setting with the dampers.

i really wanna see some shots of this thing soon, updates!!!!!!
